Meet OptiGrill XL, Tefal’s ultimate innovation in healthy cooking that caters for up to 8 people. Under and overcooked meat is a thing of the past thanks to a colour-coded cooking level indicator that alerts you when the meat is rare, medium or well done. Nine pre-set cooking programmes allow you to enjoy all your favourite meats perfectly grilled, while Tefal’s Automatic Sensor Cooking technology identifies the thickness of the meat and adjusts the cooking time and temperature accordingly.

Temperature Control

The temperature control four manual modes give you complete control to grill vegetables, sandwiches, paninis and more.

Nine Cooking Programmes

For different types of food: Burger, Poultry, Bacon, Sausage, Seafood, Pork, Sandwich, Red Meat and Fish.

Cooking Level Indicator

Comparison Table

Q: Do I need to turn off the grill and let it cool to start a second batch of cooking?

A: No, you do not have to switch off the grill first. When the lights flash again, choose the mode that you want. The preheating phase should be a lot quicker than the first time as the plates will already be hot.
Q: How do I clean my grill?

A: Wait 45 minutes for the device to cool. To clean the grill and grill components, use a cloth soaked in hot water. Do not immerse the grill in water or use abrasive cleaning products.
Q: Can I use the frozen food setting when cooking in the manual mode?

A: No – the cooking sensors are not active in manual mode.

For many years, I have been using a George Foreman indoor grill that is about this size and I've always been pleased with the way it cooks. The downside was it was a pain in the butt to clean and wash after using. That is what drew me to this T-fal OptiGrill. It has a few features my other didn't have which I must say I have been loving. I've had this now for several months and have used it many times now to cook burgers, sausage, steaks, chicken, chops, potatoes and more.

Read the instructions to understand how to use the thing you just bought, and you'll have no problem using it at all. It's extremely easy to clean, as in, it's extremely easy to clean. The two grill plates pop off like icing falls off a cupcake. Definitely recommend purchasing it (I would buy it even if it wasn't on sale had I known it was this great).
